Just received info in the mail - Does anyone have any experience with these items? It sounds like a great deal and it couldn't be any easier, but what is the quality of sheets and bath towels? Are they itchy or stiff? Threadcount? Will regular extra-long twin sheets fit the dorm beds or not? The package for $199 just sounds too good to be true - Thanks!

We just got this in the mail. Looks like a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have any personal experience with this?

I don’t have any firsthand experience - but I searched for reviews online and everything I read was horrible - from bad quality to terrible customer service. Now, I will say that all the reviews I found were old, so maybe it’s much better now. I put a small order in my shopping cart just to see what the checkout process was like - I stopped before the payment screen. Once I had the sheets order in ($19.95) I got a pop-up that asked me if I wanted to upgrade to 300 thread sheets for an addtional $12.95. I personally think that’s a lot of money for sheets - I found a very nice quality XL twin sheet set at Target for $19.99 - plus cheaper towels, blankets, etc. That being said, if the quality has gone up at RHL program then maybe it’s ok - but I decided not to take a chance.

When our sons were first preparing to head to PSU, we briefly considered these packages. But after really evaluating the list, we realized there were many items in the package that our sons wouldn’t even use. We opted to get out own towels/sheets at WalMart and Target, and in the end I think we saved a bunch.

And yes, any XL Twin sheets will work. We always brought our own foam mattress pad, too, to make the bed a little more comfortable.

I wanna hear more about this please!

Well, given that my son is capable of sleeping on ANYTHING…I’m going to give it a try! I HATE shopping and anything I can do to minimize that is good for me!!! :)

I also thought I’d go for the discount. Bad decision. When I washed them initially they felt very uncomfortable, and I’d been wondering how he was doing on them. The towels are unsubstantial and certainly not soft. . . he hasn’t complained, but I was disappointed.

I went to see my son this weekend for the first time and he wasn’t using sheets AT ALL! I asked him why – he said “they’re too small and they’re scratchy”.

I felt like a terrible mom!

His roommate’s are from Target and they are 10 times nicer. . .you don’t have to spend a ton of money to get halfway decent sheets. RHL is a ripoff as far as I’m concerned. It’s no discount if even a sleep-deprived college-aged guy can’t sleep on them.

There has been a lot of discussion about these linens over in the Parents Forum. I don’t think anyone who bought them has been very happy with the product.

A couple of my friends chose these packages and sitting on their beds and sometimes even sleeping there I don’t really find them as comfy as my own sheets. Then again I have like 2 feather beds under my sheets.
