Anybody know about the quality of the linens that Residence Hall Linens provides? I got something in the mail about it about a week ago, and I want to see if anybody has any experience with it before I purchase something from them (I don't trust the testimonials on their website). Thanks in advance

They suck. Get them cheaper at target, bb&b, or domestications.com . I knew two girls and a guy with them last year, and one girl's set fell apart, the guy was missing a flat sheet and had two fitted and they tried to blame him, and the other girl was just overall unhappy with the feel of them (well, all three were).

Oh great. I ordered mine like two weeks ago and I just thought it would be less of a hassle to order there since I live outside the US. But anyway, I hope it's not really that bad. Or if it is, I'll probably learn to be okay with it in the long run. And what do you mean one girl's set fell apart?

You can probably return them once you get here, or just go out and buy a set at BB&B (everything will be on super-sale by the end of August).
As for falling apart, after the first washing the stitching on the fitted sheet came apart so the elastic came off. She washed it like she washed everything else and only the one sheet came apart. About two weeks later her pillowcase started fraying so she went out the next day to target and bought a new set and threw the RHL ones away.

Just go to Bed Bath & Beyond and get your linens there although the selection is rather limited I must say. I was also at first curious as to whether I should purchase linens through the same mail I got as an incoming freshman two years ago. They are trying to rip your money off!

I should have heeded!!! I bought the $200 package from RHL because I wanted to save time from shopping around. OMG! What a rip-off these people are!!! The quality of every item is a “NEGATIVE” 10 in a scale of 10. They should STOP this scam in the name of helping parents. I strongly believe that it is “immoral” of all involved in this scam, including the UVA administration to allow this kind of rip-off to occur!!! I am having to replace items for my kid to stop him from *****ing about how bad the stuff is.

I sent them an email about the quality of their merchandise, but ever got a response. No wonder!

PLEASE parents, don’t make the mistake I made. Please boycott RHL!!!

I don’t know if it’s just guys but, every guy seems to have the RHL bedsheets haha. I think 5 out of the 6 people in my suite, including me have the RHL package and we complained about it at first but got used to it. The worst part about it is the blanket, it’s too small and I’m a pretty short person…

It looks nothing like what is advertised online haha. No use complaining about it, just hope that this thread will pop up next year so the class of 2016 don’t make the same mistakes we did.

Maybe the rhl sheets and comforters have gotten better because the ones that i saw just weren’t all that bad. The colors were pretty and the package seemed like a good deal because it came with so much stuff. I love some of the designs too. I don’t understand why not just send them back if you are not happy, don’t they have that guarantee that lasts until you graduate?

Personally i do love shopping at bed bath and beyond. They have so many things to choose from. I have found them to be expensive though, especially for towels and linens unless you are buying some kitchen towels after holidays that were there just for the holidays… They do give refunds with certain things. My mom had a Caphalon pan from there that lost its non stickiness, and they gave her another one that was comparable. Their kitchen gadgets dept is the best.

If you’re considering making a purchase through the Charlottesville Bed, Bath & Beyond, you may be interested in knowing that they accept expired coupons. They seem to come in the mail at least once a week and I know some parents stockpile them for back-to-school shopping.

I believe you can also order from your local store and pick items up from the Charlottesville store (I’ve heard this, but don’t have experience with it).

If you want to get great linens at a good price, go to Fashion Square up 29 (Belk?). I got queen-sized sheets at 34.95 (okay they were on half-off clearance, which is less likely at the start of the school year but still). And comforters are sold at a decent price too.

well it is true that bbb do let you use old coupies, but the stuff is still pretty costly. The residence hall linen stuff is cheap and it will last. It is guaranteed to.

i bought sheets at ikea and just loved them. the color was great and it was nice and soft. They lost their elastic just weeks after I bought them. With rhl you can just send the stuff back and have them send more. They will have the same colors too because it is from the same company. The cotton sheet sets are super nice.
