Residence Hall overflow

If you receive a letter offering a lower price for going into a 2 student room with 3 students or a one student room with 2, don't do it. My daughter regretted it because she couldn't move after every one unpacked and moved in.

I didn't even know they did that but OH MAN that would suck so bad to have three people in a double. I got a double this year and my roommate has since moved out so I have a double to myself. The thought of having TWO more people in here with all their stuff is just insane and I can't even imagine it.

Yeah that happened this year, cause they over-enrolled a bit. The rooms in the new residence hall, Barton, are a little larger than in the older halls, so some of them were "tripled up".

By the way, I also have a double all to myself now. Its very nice!!

Seems like they decided to start building another new residence hall, this time for upperclassman only, and down at the bottom of the hill (kindof a weird / bad location) : RPI: News & Events - Rensselaer Launches Residence Hall Project in Downtown Troy

Hm.. I'm going to be a freshman next year, but I haven't gotten a residence form yet, and I applied EDI. When are the applications typically sent out?

If I remember there not mailed out till early summer...

There were some things that came in April and some in June.

The triples in Barton aren't that bad. There is plenty of room and each student has a desk, wardrobe, dresser and bed. My daughter is in one this year and doesn't mind it at all.
