Residence hall preference

How are the Pollock rooms? Maybe I'll go for those.

My Two friends share a room and have a double loft, they each are lofted. under one bed is a Futon (spelling) and under the ther is the Fridge TV shevls and printer, having it like that really opens it up and makes it easyer to hang out. also the Futon is great when people are visiting.

Here is an email I sent:

Hi,

I'm a freshmen trying to decide on my Residence Hall preference for
Fall 2007. I originally chose South 1st, Pollock 2nd, but I am being
told by some people that if I choose South, there is a chance I could
end up in a "small double" with a bunk bed or lofts. Is this true?
Is this true for the other Residence Halls, as well?

Response:

Dear Harry,

There are small doubles in Pollock and West. I hope this helps.

Thank you,

I don't know why she replied in such a short and cryptic way. Does that mean there are small doubles in Pollock and West in addition to South? I also wish she would have explained the chances of ending up in a small double.

Does that mean there are small doubles in Pollock and West in addition to South or just Pollock and West and NOT South? I'm confused too.

She has given you her phone number. Use it. If she didn't want to field calls by phone, she wouldn't have shared that information.

East - Lots of walking especially in the very cold winter. Lots of freshmen that hang together in large groups.

West - Excellent Location. Mixed group --- all class standings. Beautiful old college buildings. Right near Old Main and Library.

South and Pollock - right next to the town.

Small doubles -- very small but OK if you like your roommate.

Summary -- All locations are OK. If you were accepted at Penn State University Park you are about to start 4 wonderful years in your life!! Remember to stay focused on your school work as number one priority.

Penn State is large enough to reinvent yourself and small enough to feel a part of a community of like-minded souls. I've heard it criticized for being to non-diverse and conservative. Perhaps statistically it is....but remember it is a very large school so there is a wide diversity of thought and backgrounds.

i lived in beaver hall last year as a freshman. i loved the dorms. i think that beaver hall has so many SLO's you can choose from. I was on 5th floor- Discover House and loved it. I think that was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My floor was like a community and it made freshman year much easier. SLO's are a good choice, but East Halls is good also. It's a preference.

Where do the business students dorm?

Is it true that 5 or 6 students are placed together in a recreation room?

Yes http://www.clubs.psu.edu/up/bash/
this is in north halls, but their rooms are a little more expensive than the regular double rooms.
