I recieved my hall assignment and was put into Maya hall, how is the dorm? Plus, are we allowed to change our living community?
Maya is one of two of the original brick dorms and houses several of the living learning communities along with Olmeca. The bricks do show their age, but are clean and spacious enough if you have a double. The bathrooms are communal and all dorm room doors open into a common hallway. Most students leave their dorm room doors open during the day, which leads to more social interaction than the suite style. Your floor assignment is based on your living/learning community, so it may be a problem switching. The type of RLL is really not a big deal since you only take 1 class together Fall semester. My younger son was placed into his last choice RLL last year, but made some great friends along the way which has worked out in the end since he will be rooming with 3 of his RLL friends this year. Good Luck and go Aztecs!!
Thank you! I really wanted Discovering San Diego State as my learning community, since it will be beneficial for me as an international student. Hopefully the residential staff members can help me change it!
SDSU is an awesome school. The kids who get in are extremely social and friendly.
They seem to admit a lot of kids who are smart, creative, and compassionate; that’s been my take on the student interns from SDSU.
