I'm having trouble finding any information about their freshmen residence halls. I know that most of the freshmen housing is probably bad but does anyone know where the best dorms are?

kk,

Did you get into the honors program? If so, then you will live in one of the nicest apartment style residences halls in the country. The new building opens this fall.

Here it is:

No.. I didn't get into the honors program. I was probably close to getting in because I did get a pretty good scholarship. :/

Since I'm not going to be in the nice honors dorms I'm hoping to find whatever else there is.

As frosh dorms go, Kerr Hall is really nice. While the building looks old and charming, the entire interior was completely renovated last year:

Ok it's still very charming and the Museum of Fine Arts is only a block away.

Could someone describe the Honors program resident dorms a bit better? Is it a suite system or do students share common bathrooms? How is the food?

Honors dorms have their own bathrooms, kitchens, and livingrooms. So yes, it is a suite system. As far as the food goes, you can cook your own in your own kitchen or go to any of the food courts/cafeteria's on campus (there are several). The food is very good.

Some pictures of some of the upperclass residence halls (all are apartment style):

Does Kerr have single rooms available?

Yes:

Info on all residence halls:

Campus Map showing locations of halls:

I should note that the new honors dorm does not yet appear on the map. It is still under construction but will open in the fall. The building will be located in the West Village part of the campus.

Do you really have a way of requesting a certain residence hall???? I didnt see a place to put that in the housing questionnaire

Yeah I'm wondering how they choose which dorms we are in.. and after freshmen year do we get to request certain residence halls?

My freshman daughter is in one of the Huntington Dorms. Her room has a kitchen and a bathroom that she shares just with her roomate-this dorm is usually an upper classman dorm but was used for freshman this year due to the high number of freshman who accepted spots last year.

After freshman year you get a lottery number and you get to choose based on your lottery number. My daughter and her friends (who she will be roomates with) all have a high number and they won't get to choose until sometime in May-and since they are all Honors hopefully there will still be spots in the Honors dorms-

My son has just deposited at NEU (yeah!). He will be in the Honors Program, and a very large draw for him was the new West Village housing. Does anyone know how likely it is that he will be placed there? The presentation we attended on visit day said that the first 220 freshman honors students to deposit will be placed there, and the rest in the old honors housing. I don't know how to tell if he is among the first 220. Any help?

Not sure.. mine was accepted ED and we deposited back in Jan. just to make sure he got in there...before tuition deposit. I heard a total of 280 honors students so the odds are probably pretty good...

Two of my close friends are going to Northeastern and I want to dorm with them. First off, can you request to be grouped with two dormmates as opposed to just one? And if my two friends are attending a different college from me, can we still dorm together? Are the dorms based on your year or your college?

from what i understand, you could dorm with two of your close friends, but i think that means you would be in an economy room, which is kind of cramped. and you can def dorm with people even if they're not in your college. dorming is based more so on year than on college.
