Residence Halls

Although we have some knowledge about the residence halls from Kenyon's website. A lot of information seems to be missing. Can the seniors please tell us more about them, including some of the inside stuffs and the information that isnt in the Kenyon website.

The first year residence halls:
Gund Residence Hall
Lewis Residence Hall
McBride Residence Hall
Mather Residence Hall
Norton Residence Hall

For a start, Some info on Mcbride?????

I have put a lot of info into the "have any questions" thread, so you might to a search there.
I lived in McBride! Second floor, long side. What room are you in?
The first thing about McBride that you will notice is that the halls are crazy-- there are lots of urban legends about why that is, but rumour has it they are supposed to be "riot proof". If you can't find your room immediately, no sweat, you'll pick it up fast. Third floor McBride is wellness, and the lower two floors are not, and tend to be party-hardy, although it really depends on your hallmates. McBride is single sex by room with single sex bathrooms. I had fun there. Let me know if you want more info (specifics, etc).

kc_lady,
Please tell me more abt Norton if u can. I have been placed there and the review I get is not too encouraging. I hope u ll bear good news.
As always, thanks for the help.

I lived 2nd floor short-side McBride...this may not make sense, but you will see when you get here. My hall was great and the building in general is always full of very outgoing and cool people.

Norton is more quiet...but the kids there are usually fairly close. Two of my best friends here(rising Juniors) lived on upper Norton and had a great year. Norton and Lewis are two floors each. One half of each floor is guys, the other girls.

Let us know if you need more info.

Personally, my favorite dorms were Lewis and Norton. They're older, the bathrooms are better, the rooms look nicer generally--and I liked the people better. Kenyon is odd in how it matches people up to rooms. For example, I lived in mcbride, and I found that the people there either never stopped partying or didn't know what a party was. I fell in the middle and predictably I never hung out there. In fact, I think I'm the only person I know who took one look at my hall and walked right out the door.

Whend did you get your dorm assignments? My d hasn't gotten hers yet.

I think the international students are receiving stuff ahead of the domestic students.

hello there,
actually we all have been cheating. u see, MolBioAce06 has been helping us out in knowing abt our roommates. PM him, I am sure he will help.
MolBioAce06 rocks.

well I was describing my dorm for last year...it's a bit early for freshmen to receive anything

I'm interested to hear any info about Gund that you can offer...that's where I'll be. Thanks in advance!
