What are you guys thinking about dorms?
I think I want to stay at Sherbrooke (carefour or something like that) or New Residence, but I don't want to be too far from campus?

Does anyone know how long of a walk it is? Is it hard getting to class in the winters?

I don't mind the hotel feeling, I'm just worried about the distance.

Honestly, Sherbrooke and New Rez are SO CLOSE to campus. My sister lives in New Rez and aside from the fact that there are about 50 people to a floor, she loves it. It takes about 10 minutes to walk from New Rez to campus. I’m pretty sure Sherbrooke is a 5 minute walk, if not less.

From what I’ve heard, it’s easier to get to campus from those two than from Upper Rez. Apparently, when it gets icy out, it’s hell to walk on the hill. I think Sherbrooke and New Rez are the best bets.

I also hear that there are underground tunnels for the winter which make everything easier (not sure on the details).

in general montreal has a huge underground system…
theres hotels, restaurants, malls, the metro
its always really cold in the winter but you can manage with a big warm coat :)
