residency - move out of state

So how does it work if you attend UM but then my parents move out of State? I am going to be a junior and my parents are moving to NC. I have lived in MI since i was 5 months old - born in Hawaii.... but now i am 20 and i can't afford to take on the OOS tutition for UM. My parents already pay OOS for UTenn, Marquette and Oklahoma.

Does anyone know?

I found this - does it mean that since i attended and graduated from HS here while i was a resident and have yet to attempt to change residency to NC (havent even moved yet- wont till july) - i can still claim residency here as long as i don’t attempt to get a NC drivers license and such? how does this work? I want to get your opinions before i go to the Res office and ask them and screw it all up bc they know i have moved.

dependent students
iii. Dependent Resident Student Who Remains in Michigan When Parents Leave the State. If you are a student living in Michigan with your parents and permanently domiciled in the state as defined by University Residency Classification Guidelines, you are presumed to retain resident status eligibility if your parents leave the state provided: (1) you have completed at least your junior year of high school prior to your parents’ departure, (2) you remain in Michigan, enrolled full-time in high school or an institution of higher education, and (3) you have not taken steps to establish a domicile outside Michigan or any other action inconsistent with maintaining a domicile in Michigan.

I believe you retain your residency until you graduate from your first degree.

okay. that takes some weight off my shoulders - i chose UM over ND bc it would save me 30k a year… then this came up so i was just thinking ■■■.

thanks
