residency requirements and going out of state

I'm a student at a community college in missouri looking to transfer out of state. My parents are divorced and my mom lives in arizona. I'm still dependent on my parents so I was wondering if I can qualify for in-state tuition in arizona? I was also wondering what are the typical residency requirements to qualify for in-state tuition for most states? I heard that living in a dorm and attending a college out of state for a year still doesnt get you qualified for in state tuition. I've also been looking at the SUNY schools and schools in NC, Florida, and Texas. So if you know anything about this issue, please help a brother out. Thanks

It depends on the school. Google “Residency [school name]”

Even for OOS the SUNY schools are reasonably priced.

It isn’t easy to get residency; otherwise, no one would pay OOS tuition. You might look to see whether Missouri/Arizona have agreements with surrounding states where states sort of exchange students (reciprocity).
