Residency status?

I'm a California resident and so are my family members. But my mom's thinking of moving the family out to another state. If they moved, I wouldn't have a permanent residency here in California or even a separate California address except the UCSD one. So I wouldn't have anywhere to go during breaks and things like that.

But would my residency status change? Would the Registrar consider me an out-of-state student because I don't have a permanent California address?

I've tried calling the Registrar a million and one times, but they don't answer. And I'd like to get an answer ASAP. =/

Any info would be helpful. Thanks!

Life is lived in the present. Currently, you are a legal resident of california. That is what counts. Your Mom may be thinking of moving… thinking…not yet moved. so, it is hypothetical. If and when she does move, you will be enrolled safely at ucsd. Unlikely, they can go back and adjust your status…
