Residency?

Hi, I am an student who probably qualifies for Instate but am currently classified as OOS due to my situation. I have submitted the necessary forms and whatnot. However, when will I know if I have been reclassified ? I know that this greatly affects acceptance likelihood and matters largely for my application process. Thanks!

Maybe a couple months…and if denied you can appeal within 30 days. My advice is to keep in touch with them.

Do you think that they will have classified by the time a decision needs to be made?

Are you applying as a transfer or right from H.S.? If transferring, residency matters very little. I am in a similar situation and was worried about it but was reassured when I called admissions that as a transfer student it wouldn’t affect admission chances. I was accepted Friday so they weren’t lying. Good luck!

I had the same problem. I called the Office of the Registrar and asked them what was up, and why I’d been put down as OOS although nothing indicated I was. The lady on the phone didn’t see what triggered the OOS and she had a Residency Office change my status. So I’d say just call them.

The lady’s name is Kathleen, and she was really helpful.

Btw, my status was changed within 2 days of calling.

Had a similar situation when I applied. It took them around 10? weeks to fix my residency classification, had to submit a form.

I am applying from highschool-- and @ blackpen… did this affect your admissions decision??

Well, obviously not lol
