Residency

Last year I moved from Texas to Alabama. My father is still currently living in Texas. I want to go to Texas A&M, so I was wondering if it was possible claim residency in Texas with my father.

It would seem that your father would have to claim you as a dependent on his taxes.

Read the regulations in the link above then contact the school. Are you going to be a new freshman or are you a transfer, it could be different. In Erin’ Dad’s link there is a link to an application you will likely have to fill out so read through those questions too.

http://registrar.tamu.edu/forms/residency.pdf

And make sure you meet any deadlines in the process.

The student would have to live in Texas for his senior year of high school AND be dependent on his father.
The latter by itself is insufficient to claim residency.

do you have the stats for a scholarship to TAMU?

OP could join the Corp of Cadets. They presumably give students $1,000 for the residency requirement.
