Residential FIG - Question for UTHousing

My son put down his preference for the Whitis Court Residential FIG program in late April. The website says that students will be notified by letter if they are confirmed, starting in March. When should my son hear one way or the other?

Thanks!

Please send your question to the Residential FIG office. They will have more information for you. resfig@mail.utexas.edu

Thanks for the link, UTHousing. I’ll contact them.

They replied quickly. Unfortunately, the program is full and my son is on the waiting list. Oh, well, Dobie will be OK.

Awww, Mainelonghorn, is Dobie really his second choice? Did he have any other UT dorms on his list?

I think July is when the housing office lets everyone know which dorm they’re actually assigned to. AND our experience with wait lists at UT is quite positive. So may he will get in.

I highly recommend the ResFig program. DD is on the wait list for a second year there…in the sophomore wing of course. But she thrived in the small community aspect of it.

Even if your son doesn’t make it off the wait list, I’ll bet there are other spots on campus for him. Good luck!

givings, that’s cool your daughter liked the program so much. DS didn’t decide on UT until late April, so we were late (although I put the housing deposit down back in early October, just in case, but I guess that doesn’t matter for the ResFig).

Oh, I just realized I wrote the wrong dorm - duh! I meant Jester, not Dobie.

Jester is his second choice because he needs to be near food at all times. No joking! He is a distance runner, and whether he runs for the team as a walk-on (long-shot due to injuries this year), or for a club, he will need lots of calories. Every student we talked to that actually lived at Jester seemed to like it, too. We can’t afford San Jac or Duren, so those are out.
