There have been numerous references to the resources at Berkeley. The general consensus is that Berkeley has incredible resources, but they are relatively inaccessible or untapped, and that one must be aggressive in order to take full advantage.

My question is, what are some of these resources specifically? Are you referring to the world-class professors that few people take the time to see during office hours? The research opportunities that are few and far in-between? The superb graduate program of which can somehow be taken advantage? Or something else I'm missing?

And, how would you advice a Berkeley student to take advantage of these resources? How does one go about getting a research position, or other opportunities at Cal that seem elusive to so many undergraduates?

Thanks in advance for the responses.
