Which are the best books, sites, etc for learning for the main SAT test?
and which for the subject tests? (probably taking math 1 or 2 and science and maybe a language)
Also, assuming I get good marks, will it be beneficial to do more tests than the 2 required by some institutions?
Any other tests I may need to take?

Also, im going into university in the fall of 2013. It isnt too early, as in i’ll have to retake the test closer to the time or something like that?

Hey mishan,

I like to use Vocabulary.com to study words for class. I wish I discovered it before taking the SAT. It uses simple definitions combined with memorable, descriptive blurbs to make words easier/possible to remember. Plus, it’s free and it’s fun.

Here’s an example of a word you’d see on the SAT as defined on Vocabulary.com: [hedonist - Dictionary Definition : Vocabulary.com](http://www.vocabulary.com/definition/hedonist)

And here’s a list of 99 more SAT words you can learn with the help of Vocabulary.com: [100 Top SAT Words - Vocabulary List : Vocabulary.com](http://www.vocabulary.com/lists/23400)

Hope this helps,

Vocabulary.com is good for… learning vocabulary. I’d say its better than freerice, but freerice has the added benefit of its donations and its extra categories other than vocabulary.

Freerice.com is good for vocabulary and basic grammar. They also donate 10 grains of rice for every correct answer you get.

Khanacademy.com is the best I’ve found for learning math. They have playlists that go from learning to add and subtract all the way up to playlists for calculus, linear algebra, and statistics. They also have a set of exercises you should take advantage of.

number2.com is a site for overall SAT prep. I haven’t tried it myself yet, but I’ve heard good reviews. You should try it out and tell us how it goes.

Thanks a lot. that is very helpful. and about the other questions?
Also, assuming I get good marks, will it be beneficial to do more tests than the 2 required by some institutions?

^ I’ve tried number2.com and I found it pretty good for the reading and writing sections. Just don’t plan on doing the math- reading graphs off the screen are annoying and how often do those come out on the SAT anyway?

Oh yes, for Sat II subject tests, Sparknotes.com has a lot of free content and practice papers (some are more difficult than you would expect on the actual paper).
