<p>All right fellow CCers....how about helping me compile a list of books and other resources to help about-to-graduate students who are getting ready to leap into the BIG pond?</p>
<p>Looking for suggestions of good books dealing with moving to NYC or LA including where to live, suggestions for jobs, agents, casting directors, etc.</p>
<p>Any periodicals to subscribe to? Would "Backstage" be a good investment?</p>
<p>I know most of you are in the beginning phases of looking for MT programs and auditioning for the colleges of your dreams. BUT some of us have stuck it out to the grand finale here on CC and now it is time to research the other end of the rainbow. I need some help...and in turn you can use this forum later on when your Ss & Ds are seniors. Oh sure, the schools go over some of this stuff with the students when they are seniors, but I would like be as well informed also.</p>

<p>A subscription to Backstage should absolutely be your first step. You can get an online subscription; from there you can access their back issues and find all sorts of helpful articles and columns about getting started. You can store your picture and resume online, and even allow agents and casting directors to have access to it. Through Backstage you can also subscribe to the Ross Report, which is a monthly publication with information about agents and casting directors. They also have a service which will supply you with mailing labels addressed to these people. Lots of invaluable tips and help in these two periodicals. Good luck!</p>
