Restaurant near USC

My D and I will be arriving at USC on Sunday for Explore. We are looking for a restaurant recommendation. We are staying at the Radisson. I don’t mind ubering but would prefer not to go too far. My D is a foodie and a pescatarian. On Monday we are meeting a freshman from our town at Cava in the Village. Thanks!

If you don’t mind ubering, Grand Central Market has lots of really unique options and isn’t too far of a drive

The Lab, next door to the Radisson, has decent food if you would like to stay really local. I liked their fish tacos.

El Cholo, on Western Ave., is an old time favorite Mexican restaurant. It’s quite good. Requires a Uber ride, but it’s not too far.

LA Live is just 2 miles away and has a ton of restaurants if you feel like doing more of a tourist thing and getting out to see a really cool part of downtown. Sorta LA’s Times Square that is bustling with activity, a contained square right next to Staples center. Keep in mind anything downtown is just 2 or so miles, so pretty much everything is open to you if you want to Uber. It has the Yardhouse, RocknFish, but also some high end specialty restaurants. There’s a lot of little places around campus, but not sure how cafe style versus dining you want to go.

Thank you all for your tips. LA Live sounds fun! Maybe we’ll check that out. There’s also an Asian fusion place in the link that wwward posted that looks good. I love exploring places around college campuses!

On their first visits, my daughters each liked grabbing breakfast, lunch or brunch at Nature’s Brew. It is consistently good & also provides an interesting vibe / glimpse into the lives of current students.

Urth Caffe is nice too for a quick meal… but each of their locations are further away… downtown, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills, etc.

Update- we went to Ebaes, an Asian fusion restaurant a few blocks from campus. We had sushi and ramen. It was very good and would definitely go back.

We are excited for Explore to start tomorrow!

Bestia in DTLA if you can get a reservation.
