Looking for recommendations for a restaurant to take my daughter (sophomore, 19) and 7 of her friends to celebrate her 19th birthday in or around South Bend. Help?

If you’re planning to celebrate after the game tomorrow, just be ready to wait in line for quite a while. That said I’d recommend The Mark on Eddy Street or Fiddler’s Hearth in downtown SB. Rocco’s or Barnaby are good for pizza.

We are planning to take her out Sunday, Oct. 12th on her actual birthday. Thank goodness her birthday doesn’t fall on game day. Thanks for the recommendations. Keep them coming.

Ciao’s downtown, reliably good pasta.

There are a few good places on Eddy Street, but mainly they have a pub-component. If you’d like a more “family atmosphere”, and really good food, there’s this place called Famous Dave’s BBQ. They’re reasonably priced, offer a lot of food (I recommend the American Platter…it’s great), and has plenty of space to accommodate a large crowd. Plus it’s only eight minutes off of campus.

Good luck.

Flat Iron Grill in University Mall. You fill bowls with what you want and they stir fry it.

This is late, but you should really get brunch at Tippecanoe!
