restricted early action

does applying early action give me a greater chance of acceptance? i kept thinking so, but researching online, some people said that it actually is HARDER because the pool is more competitive(?) or something. can someone help me?? by the way i wanted to do it for stanford university.

this has been brought up often, but i don’t think anyone has the information to answer this correctly. Well, at least correctly and truthfully.
I have heard people say that the URMs, legacies, and athletes are accepted through the early action, which may cause the slight increase in the acceptance rate for SCEA. And yes, I have also read that the pool is more competitive.
I thought this through, and came to this: if you can complete your applications by Nov 1 for Stanford, then there is really nothing to lose. If you don’t get it, you may be deferred to the regular pool. Seeing that you are interested in Stanford, you are obviously a good student, so it is not likely that you will be rejected in SCEA.
That is how i thought about it. hope it helps
