Hi
I was planning to apply for a bunch of the Ivy’s on Early Decision; however, unfortunately, I’ve just known about the " restrictive " early decision, that applying for any of them on Early decision means that u can only apply for others on Regular Decision. So I was just asking if there’s any possible way by which I can apply for more than one of the Ivy’s on Early Decision ?
Thanks in advance
No.
If you get into a school Early Decision, you are BOUND to go there. You have to. Which would cause problems if you had several of those agreements, each thinking you’re breaking the contract by going elsewhere.
and if you do ED and get in, you need to cancel the rest of your regular decision applications.
Applying to Harvard under the Restrictive Early Action program empowers you to make a college choice early. Early applicants apply by the November 1 deadline and hear from us by December 15.
Early Action is a non-binding early program, meaning that if you are admitted you are not obligated to enroll. If you apply to Harvard under our Early Action program, you may also apply at the same time to any public college/university or to foreign universities but you are restricted from applying to other private universities’ Early Action and Early Decision programs.
I’ll make it easy for you - there are 3 early application programs you may see, each of which is a little different:
Early Action (EA): An early application that allows you to get results early, but still gives you until decision day to decide. You can apply anywhere else that uses EA, and most that use Early Decision (though if you get into the Early Decision school you MUST go there)
Single Choice Early Action (SCEA): The same as Early Action, but you can only apply to one school early if you use this, barring some rolling application programs (see individual college websites)
Early Decision (ED): Allows you to apply early and get results early, but if you get in somewhere this way you MUST attend, and therefore you cannot apply multiple places ED, and can’t apply anywhere Regular Decision if you get into your ED school.
Hope this helps!
