<p>Lawrenceville asked me what number I wanted on my field hockey jersey. Is that a telegraph of their decision?</p>

<p>If the coach is familiar with your level field hockey skill and it is an admissions person asking it, I'd take it that way. </p>

<p>If it is only the coach asking, s/he may only be trying to generate some excitement or test your level of enthusiasm. Could be promising, but I wouldn't bet my paycheck on it.</p>

<p>Andover says they take about 20-25 students in for the 11th grade year. Just curious, how many typically apply for these 20-25 seats at Andover for 11th grade?</p>

<p>LOTSS of athletic recruits (basically who the spots are for).</p>

<p>my friend from andover said that a lot of the new upper middlers were very artsy white kids.. i guess they add diversity? most minorities get in as 4 year students under scholarships and fellowships and stuff so that the school can get racial diversity and then add who they need later (athletes, maybe an artist, etc.)... she said most are white for some reason.</p>

<p>hmm, well i do recall emailing admissions at one pt about that- i believe that the number is closer to 200 at least.</p>
