Does anyone know if it's ok to attatch a very brief list of really important extracurriculars with brief explanations to my Stanford App? I have done a lot of theatre, and it's difficult to explain the show's I've done or the significance of the roles I have had (lead in fall music vs. lead in community theatre) with the character limits of the Common App Activities Section. But, Stanford says that they "strongly discourage" supplemenatary credentials.

I have the same question. I do a ton of creative writing that can’t at all be encapsulated in the extracurricular section. Will anyone even look at an attached list of activities?

Same question here…

a week and a half ago, one of the Stanford admission officers came to our school for a visit…she strongly discouraged it and repeatedly said to try to make use of all the Common App space without attaching anything else…they have too much to read already…

worldtraveler, I’d use the top of the writing section that says to elaborate on one of your activities to talk about your theatre

hey guys, wait a minute!

I thought we could EITHER attach a doc. listing our activities in an orderly manner OR write in the spaces given below the ‘additional info’ section with a character limit.

So they prefer the additional info character limit space isit??? But why is that so??

regards
