if you are sending that in...they will read the first couple of lines, look at how long it is, see 1997, and throw it aside. At most have your resume be two pages, typed, 12 font.

no no send it in, it'd be the easiest reject of their lives... hahah jk

Research: 1) Math project on the significance of pi

just curious... what were your conclusions on this- that it correlates with a sphere? :)

For college apps you are only asked to supply information beginning with the summer before your freshman year in high school. Anything from an earlier time period will just annoy the adcoms.

All your academic credentials are: "Certificate of participation" or "Certificate of credit". Don't put awards that aren't really "awards" (ie, something special 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc), and by goodness, don't put anything from 1997!

Music- STOP REPEATING YOURSELF. Its annoying to read a line of "blah blah blah in so-and-so year", and then to read that same line six times with the year just changed. Simply put the achievement, and then put 2001-2005 or something.

Most of your awards are crap. Sorry to say, but they really are. Put stuff that you're really proud of, not "Participant in spelling bee when I was weeee little". I'd never read this if I was adcom.

Hey Hey I'm surprised at the poor response the poor fella's got. I mean in India, to do this and actually maintain a good class rank is really really really hard. Stop bickering and give credit where its do. Word of advice to soumyajeet, dont exxagerate academic honors...5th grade stuff and comp awareness should be deleted rest all OK. I'm a Harvard student btw

and kudos to the Darthmouth forum for being way more civil than the Harvard forum...and hey, no offence to the applicants posting but none of u guyz or galz r adcoms so u hv no idea how efficient they are. However, ever a super efficient adcom wouldn't like the Computer awareness stuff. However the Music,Art and drama ,Quiz,Social Service and umm leadership (ok fine i'm in a good mood) are outstanding for an Indian applicant. I know this coz I'm in the admissions office. get a good score and I'm sure you'll get in a good college
