<p>How do colleges find out if people are lying on their resume and black lists them? I just think its so unfair how people try to do that. My friend she was going to do it but then I talked her out of it telling here they'll black list her. So now im curious how do they differentiate from the truth and the lies?</p>
<p>Anything that is big enough to make a real difference in your application can likely be verified. Anything that can’t be verified is probably not important enough to make a difference in your application.</p>
<p>Many colleges also do an “audit” of randomly selected (or suspicious) applications by contacting the guidance counselors at the schools to ask questions. They may also ask applicants for some sort of verification, such as award certificates or letters from sponsors/teachers/coaches.</p>
