<p>I'm currently a college student and I am planning on applying to an internship next summer. The only work experience I have is an under the table delivery job at a Chinese food restaurant in which I was payed in tips and cash for the last three summers. I was never employed by them (never filled out any paperwork to work there) and fall below both state and federal income requirements to file taxes. Should I list this, would it be better to leave work experience off my resume, or is there another way of going about this?</p>
<p>I worked for 2 years “under the table” in a similar situation in high school and shared the same concerns when I went to ollege. You might as well list it…there aren’t federal employment records or anything that confirm the salary you were paid, and no one (short of the federal government doing an extensive background check) would ever bother to investigate whether your salary was paid under the table or officially. If you can list your boss on your application and he/she can be called to verify that you worked there, you absolutely should list it on your resume (especially if it is relevant work experience).</p>
