I think we all know the way some people focus a lot on their resume and doing activities just to pad it. Is this the culture of students at Berkeley? (I dont know since I have never visited) Or are the students genuinely interested and enthusiastic about school and their activities?

Thank you!

At any school, you’ll definitely find resume-focused people, but here at Berkeley, there’s also a lot of people who are really genuinely interested in their activities. Some things, like the ASUC student government body, are almost entirely filled with resume padders… But if you go to a dance group, or go to a Circle K (volunteer club) meeting, or visit a fraternity or sorority, you’ll see mostly people who want to be involved and active within their group because it interests them, not just because they can type up the group name at the end of the day and stick it on a resume.

Lol, is that really true? Are they doing it for law school?

Partly true, but mostly untrue. Working as an ASUC official (elected or otherwise) is plenty of work, and probably not worth the GPA hit you take as compared to how “good” it looks on your resume.
