This is a simple question. I usually print my D's resume on the back of her headshot as is done for theater auditions, etc.
However, do the colleges prefer a separate resume page, not attached to the back of a picture?

In my experience they do not particularly care. Most resumes and pictures will most likely be placed into a file anyway and be paperclipped together. So i think it is up to personal choice.

I have heard of some casting directors who prefer them to be stapled so the can lift up the resume and make notes on the back... but as IJElkiss said, it is a personal choice...

In the long run I found that it isn't necessarily great to have a resume printed on the back of a headshot, mainly because you have to wait until you run out of those headshots to add new credits to your resume. I remember a friend trying to staple an updated resume over the resume printed on his photo, but all the writing on the first resume showed through.

Thank you!

Otterbein College specifically requests the resume and headshot to be separate/unattached so they can run off photocopies of each for the auditors.
