Resume vs. Brag Sheet

Which one is more effective?

On my brag sheet, which is two pages long, I give a brief, two-sentence description of each of my activities/awards that I can’t really do with my resume (since it’s best to keep it one page long). Is it okay to send it both or will that just annoy the admissions officers?

brag sheet aka activity list

No point sending both...I would think you'd want to limit the amount of material you send the the UGA office.

Resumes are for the workplace anyhow, so I would just send the brag sheet.

Cut your brag sheet down by not explaining obvious activities and by not expanding on obvious awards like NMSF. You may also want to go through and eliminate all activities that are not very significant so you can keep your brag sheet to about a page.

I beg to differ. Although you definitely want to highlight your five or six most significant extracurriculars, I would definitely include absolutely EVERYTHING meaningful you've done over the past four years in your activity sheet. Don't worry about length as much as ensuring that your brag sheet leaves no stone unturned. I'm submitting a six page activity sheet to all my colleges and I really don't think the admissions officers will be annoyed at all.

I don't see why anyone would want to send in a resume/bragsheet to begin with if it's not required material :s

because its hard to get a sense of what u actually did if u just write:

xyz club 9[x] 10[x] 11[x] 12[x]

What did u do for this club? We know u were president...but so what...what did u do specifically as a president.

Ummm, well that's basically what I did...If they really wanted to know then they would've asked you.

my resume is my brag sheet lol. i sent in a paper resume to all my colleges.

If you applied common app though, there's no need to send in a brag sheet. Everything should fit.. plus you have additional spaces to elaborate
