Resume

I have a few key extracurriculars that I cannot accurately describe my involvement and accomplishment in them with the 100 characters allowed on the Common App "activities" page. So my question is, would it be adequate to simply provide these details under the "additional information" section of the Common App? Or would it be better to submit a resume that details my accomplishments in these key areas, as well as providing more information about the rest of my activities (although these activities are not as important/in depth)? Yale seems to discourage applicants from sending resumes on their website, and I want to keep my application folder light as they recommend. I will already be submitting an arts supplement.

One of the reasons the Common Application no longer allows for the uploading of documents is that many high school students in past years uploaded a resume in the “Additional Information” section – and colleges don’t want resumes, so I would not include one.

If you cannot fit all your activities in the EC list, or need to elaborate on several activities, do so by typing bullet points into the text-box. But keep everything brief and to the point.
