resume

We are allowed to attach a resume via commonapp this year no?
I was getting a bit confused from the past threads where they say stanford specifically says no resume.

can anyone confirm this?

BUMP! can nobody answer this?

Stanford does not like explicit "resume" format info that repeats what
is in the app.

The common app allows an extra info section to be appended.

Try to put your "resume" info content in this section.

Stanford does not want a separate piece of paper apart from this
extra info section at the end of the common app.

If you upload a file in the "additional info" section of the Commonapp, Stanford will not look at it. You have to type it in.

Or so says this foreign-sounding lady who has answered my call 3 days in a row.

^ Can anyone confirm this? That's surprising to me.

why don't you call the admissions yourself?

see that's why I was confused about it

I don't see why they wouldn't read it though it you uploaded a file...isn't it equivalent of typing it in?

Here is what I experienced last year:

I uploaded to the additional info section which just prints out with
the rest of the app on the Stanford end.

(I was not only admitted but was one of the "likely" admits and
know for a fact that my additional info was looked at.)

^ So you didn't type it in, right? And how long was your document?

The additional info sections I know of (mine or my friends') usually
varied from 1 to 4 pages and was a formatted MS Word document
uploaded into the Common app.

You can check the overall app by asking the common app to show
you the pdf version - the one that your app reader will see at Stanford.

I just called the stanford admissions and they said they they weren't going to read anything that's attached extra. so unless some activities aren't obvious from first glance, you can clarify, but otherwise, they won't read it :-(

Hm, I wonder if that changes if you're homeschooled. I will have to call them myself.

I uploaded my resume last year too. I clarified some of the things I did in that resume (i.e. a short paragraph about each of my activities). They should have seen it. But this year it might be different.
