Retake 2050 SAT I and 700 Math IIC ?

Here are all my SAT scores...

Math 1- 670 (10/08)
Math 2- 700 (6/09)
Biology M- 680 (6/09)

SAT I - 1/10
600 Reading
740 Math
610 Writing

SAT I - 5/10 ... 2040)
590 Reading
760 Math
690 Writing

I'm looking at some good schools- CMU, JHU, Cornell, Columbia, BC, UW Madison, UChicago, Macaulay honors college

So I was wondering if I should study all summer and then take the SAT I in October, hoping for a higher reading scoer (a HUGE weakpoint). Also, since I am taking Chem in June (I'm pretty sure I will score higher than i did on Bio), should I retake my Math II? And lastly.. should I not bother sending my lowish Bio and Math I scores?

Good luck at JHU, Cornell, Columbia with those scores.
Retake

It’s interesting that you scored higher on the SAT I math than either of the subject tests, considering the subject test curves are rather generous.

I would recommend you to retake the SAT and Math II (you don’t need to redo both).

also, be sure that those schools don’t require ALL test scores. Columbia definitely does.

You need higher scores for those schools.

Have you looked at the mid-50 score ranges for those schools?

for instance…

Columbia… middle 50% of students

SAT Critical Reading: 680 - 770
SAT Math: … 690 - 780
SAT Writing:… 680 - 770

Your scores are too low.

Since you’re applying to Macaulay Honors, I’m guessing that finances are an issue. IF that is true, then retest (take both the SAT and ACT) and also apply to a couple of schools that will give you assured BIG merit for your stats. You’d need some financial safety schools.

Retake. Get a 800 on math and at least a 2150-2200 on SAT.

Yeah those are just the tip top schools i’m looking at. Others are Stony Brook, BU, Northeastern, St Johns and Adelphi (both i will get a lot of merit for)

Retake…You know that the avg score of SAT II math IIC is about 620…

And perhaps my chances arent THAT bad… from my school, according to naviance…
Avg score accepted to CMU (Me)
GPA- 94.63 (96.92)
SAT- 1301 (1360)
/2400- 1983 (2050)

you’re easily in at Macauly, but you’re going to have a hard time at all the other privates, def retake and aim for 2150 +
