retake 2250?

hello everyone!

i need some advice please. i understand that i might come off as pretentious but I genuinely need halp D:

i took my first sat in dec. i was super nervous so i got a 2160 (730m, 720cr, 710w) writing: mc: 70, essay: 10)
i took my second sat in jan: 2240 (800m, 740cr, 700w) mc: 77 essay: 6
the official score reports are not out yet but im really upset that i got a 6 on my essay. idk what went wrong :frowning:

my dream school is yale :frowning: but i realized that as an asian, a 2250 superscore is probably not high enough D: do you guys think it’ll be worth it to take it the third time or will it seem too tryhard? is the writing score too low for typical ivy league schools? i was aiming for a 2300+ </3 collegeboard whai you do this to me :frowning:

First of all, you are a junior, so you should have taken more time to practice, but take the SAT in May or June so that you can study a lot.

yes! My scores were 2060, 2280, and 2380. I stopped practicing after my first test and took my third test on a whim, so it’s definitely doable

@Duvarc‌ when did you take your third sats?
im debating on whether to take it in may or oct (senior year) bc i have sat subject tests on june. however, i have 5 ap tests to prepare for D: may sat is two days before the ap chem test day. GG. what would you recommend me to do? ID MAKE EVERYONE SANDWICHES IF I GOT A 2380. im still angry at my 6 essay LOL :frowning: :frowning:

@ icandodis I took my third sat October of my senior year. I’d definitely recommend taking it senior year if you’re also taking that many ap tests

yeah the essay grading feels incredibly random i got an 8 on mine and that kept me from an 800 in w :frowning:
