Retake a 2200?

So my question is fairly simple - should I retake a 2200 first-try on the SAT? I got 800 CR, 700 M, 700 W (72, 8). I'm frustrated about the 8 on the essay since I felt good about it and have the highest grade ever given in my school's lang and comp class and I got a 790 on the PSAT so this was a low score (I was really sick the day I took the March SAT). Will colleges actually not care if I do significantly WORSE on CR? I feel like I got very lucky to get an 800 and probably wouldn't repeat it, however, I believe that I could definitely improve writing significantly and most likely math by a small amount.

Would it be worth it to study over the summer and retake this score in the fall for Ivy admissions?

most ivies superscore, so yes do it! I mean as long as you don’t fall below the 700 Cr mark it wouldn’t matter much. even if you do, its superscoreD!! They look at your best score on each section. I strongly suggest retake because you could probably do better on writing with that PSAT W score. Plus a higher score will probably increase your chances of admission at some of those tier 1 non-ivy schools like hopkins, northwestern, duke, etc. It’ll make your app more competitive so I think you should do it.

Thanks RADtomato

Depending on where you want to go, I would retake it. If shooting for Ivies or other top 20s, i would definitely consider retaking.
