retake a 2220?

i'm happy with it, but will it suffice for the ivies?

Thanks

Was that your first time?

A 2220 sounds fine, but what did you get on math and reading combined? Aim for 750 on each subsection

Don't bother yourself retaking! You have an excellent score that puts you well in the range of top tier schools. Just relax a little, do well in school, and you'll be fine! =) Colleges don't want superhumans!

if i had a 2220 with my first sitting i would shoot out for 2300+...
on the other hand if my CR and MR would be 750+ i would bother

If you think you can improve, go for it and try to get the score that puts you in the best light.

I retook at 2220, because I thought I had undershot my potential for math by 100 points. As it turned out I only went up 10 in math, but 80 in writing.

Are you a junior or a senior? If a junior, definitely give it another shot, either late this year or early senior year. If a senior, it's really up to you and whether or not you think you can improve.

I am not retaking a 2180, because I need to complete other applications and worry about school more than the SAT. Besides, I got what I expected in math and writing, although I was a quite below where I should have been in critical reading.

unless you're ELC and 4.71 anyways, you should retake it

i disagree. don't retake it.

Nice job on the 2220!

Though, I would retake if M+V composite is less than 1500.

I got a 2210, and the breakdown showed that most people that got my score actually did worse the second time around....

yeah, MOST people did worse...if you study more, you won't do worse

Nobody can really say whether that score is good enough for the ivies. If you have great ECs and are ranked high, you're probably good, but a higher score never hurt anybody

retake if you actually think you can go up. but otherwise your scores are fine!

Yeah, if its only your first time, or if you're only a junior, and plan on studying some more, retake. But if none of the above, be happy with that score! Its a very competitive SAT score considering you have good academics and ECs.
