Retake a 35?

I know it seems ridiculous to retake a 35, but here are my scores:

35 Composite
35 English
35 Math
36 Reading
34 Science
9 Writing (32 English/Writing)

I am happy with my overall score. However, I am partly disappointed because I aced the Math and Science on the all practice tests that I took, but on the real test I made a careless error on Math and ran out of time on Science (had to guess randomly on the last 4 questions). Math and Science are my best subjects, and I know that I have the ability to get a 36 in both the second time around. If I am thinking of applying to top science schools, will they be surprised by a 34 science? I knew my essay was bad and I am pretty sure that I can do better on that. Is it worth retaking?

Also, I am confused about my 35 English. I received an 18 subscore for both sections, but why does that translate to a 35 instead of a 36?

Definitely don’t retake… A 35 is fantastic…

In general, I usually lean in favor of retaking, but in your case, it is not necessary.

Dude, chill. If you are freaked over an ACT score of 35, you could be either way too stressed, or hell bent on perfectionism w/o looking at the big picture.

It’s one test, which you did extremely well. Put it away and forget about it. Move on to life’s next hurdle or better, yet, go out and have some fun! Enjoy your successes.

I was thinking of retaking my 35 as well. The reason was because I got an 8 on my essay (making a 31 English/Writing score)

In the end I realized that taking it again would not be a productive use of time. Use that time to do something else.
