So, I got my scores like everyone else: Spanish w/ listening 790, Math II 780, and Chemistry 700. I am applying to MIT, Stanford, Caltech, etc., and plan to major in either biochemistry, biology, or chemistry, depending on availability. Needless to say, I am discouraged with this score, but do I need to retake? Will it keep me out?

Bump 10char

A 700 is excellent, but if you feel you can do better then I’d say go for it.

700 on chem is NOT “excellent” for MIT, Stanford, or Caltech. I would re-take…

yea i got a 700 on Chemistry too
do you think i have to retake? Im applying to NYU (not Stern), U of Southern California, Carnegie Mellon and Stony Brook (and Binghamton).
AND Cornell. (i know a 700 is def. not enough for Cornell CALS)

You already have your own thread on the matter, “yipyip0901”. Do not feel compelled to hijack mine.
I guess I will do standby. The problem is that I (probably stupidly) requested score reports for all my schools before I got the scores. Will this be bad?

hahahahahahahaha. I got a 540 in chemistry, I have never bombed a test so badly in my life. It was so bad I went up to the proctor and asked if I could erase my answers and pretend like I never took the test.

I’d say a 700 is fine :D

you will not be denied admission anywhere based solely on this.
