Retake ACT for transfer?

I want to apply for transfer for 2011, into NYU Steinhardt's MCC program. But I'm worried that although my college stats are good, my ACT (which I took in high school and didn't study for) is gonna hold me back. Should I retake it before submitting my app?

In high school I had a 3.0 unweighted and 4.2 weighted GPA.
ACT- 22

I'm now a part of an Honors College, I've completed one full year and want to transfer after my second.

3.9 GPA
Phi Theta Kappa
SAID
Staff member/writer for school newspaper
Editor-in-chief of school magazine
300 community service hours
President’s Award for Community Service
+ more clubs and things I will become a part of during my second year.

Should I be worried about my score and retake it? NYU is my number one transfer school.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I dont think NYU looks at scores that were achieved during your college years.

NYU is one of the few schools that dont look at SAT scores. Your hs stats matter very little as a high school transfer anyways.

I’ve been asking myself the same question. I took my ACT as a junior in 2008 and apparently staying up all night watching movies wasn’t a very good idea. Who knew? Anyway, I got a 23 and never retook them because I was going to a community college to save $$$.

I think I’m just going to retake them anyway. Even though I have a list of schools I want to apply to for next fall with, hopefully, a 4.0 and an Associate’s Degree in a year, and those schools don’t require test scores, I’m very likey to change my mind and I just want to make sure I’m comfortable with my scores so that doesn’t hurt my application.

I think I can bum a fee waiver from some high school students I know…if not, that’s $60 gone.

At this point, I know I’m not going to do any worse so, why not?

^after two years, your hs stats matter very little. However, I think the cutoff id around 1800 - 26. It may be in your best interest to retake it, that way youll be more confident about your app
