Retake ACT or SAT?

I'm aiming for a 32 ACT composite score or a 1350 combined reading and math score. (which would make me eligible for a full scholarship)

My current ACT score:
English 31
Math 27
Reading 34
Science 27
Composite 30

My current SAT score:
Reading 650
Math 660

Do you guys think it would be easier to raise my ACT score by 2 points or my SAT score by 40?
I'm trying to decide which one to retake, and I'd like to put all my focus on one and not do both within a week of each other.
Also, does anyone have any tips on how I can improve either score? Or if you were in a similar situation, what did you do?
Thanks!

One will not be easier than the other. Just invest some serious time an effort into practice and you should see improvement.

At your score level, you need to focus of med and hard level questions. General rule is to be really technical on high level questions. Read and rewrite information as if you are scored on how much you mark up a question. You will be surprised at how many more questions you will get by changing how you mark up a question.

It depends on the person, however, I would say for most people it would be easier to get 1350+ in CR+M than 32 in ACT. ACT31 correspond to ~1380. In addition, it is far easier to have 50-80 point fluctuation in SAT score than 2 points in ACT. Nevertheless, you current ACT score is a touch better than your SAT score (depending on the conversion chart the school use).

^Ignore him.

I feel like ACT Math is easier to improve than SAT Math, and your ACT English + Reading are way better than your SAT. However, the science section is a pain and will require a TON of work. I’d probably go with the ACT though since high scores in the other three sections will cancel out the science score.

Thanks for all the advice!
I ended up signing up for the SAT since the ACT are smack in the middle of final exams. Then I might take the ACTs again next year if need be…

TheKongo, you have the right to freely express yourself, but your initial comment is really nasty and offending.

musicgeek95, so you are not taking any subject test in June? It would be fine to do either one. For SAT 1350 or ACT 32, I do think you can reach the goal for SAT easier. You are only 40 points away. You just need one more correct answer.
