Retake ACT

So I applied to Michigan (EA) in early October... got deferred in December. Michigan is my top choice. The next ACT after I got deferred was today (Feb 12) and I think I did really really well (34 or 35). My best score as of now is 31 (33 superscored). I am having my score automatically sent but what can I do to make sure UMich looks at it before I receive my decision? I'm OOS, btw.

If you got deferred with a 31 then the ACT score isn’t what is keeping you from getting an acceptance. There must be something else with you application such as your unweighted GPA or your course rigor. I seriously doubt an increase from a 31 to a 34 is going to make much of a difference.

well when I was deferred, I had a 3.9 W GPA… I got straight As in all 5 AP classes this year and now my gpa is 4.0.

what was your unweighted, they dont take into account weighted…

i have no idea. my school doesn’t have that. i have some high A’s in some AP classes but I have a few 89s in classes like spanish and chem. I am guessing it’s between 3.6 and 3.8. I really don’t know. When I visited the University of Michigan, the admissions officer said that they don’t recalculate GPAs.

huh, idk then ive heard so many differnt things about GPA’s from different schools it can be kinda tough to keep it all straight, sorry. Good luck though.

I really wish my school weighted…

I really hope we both get in tomorrow.

You don’t have an advantage or disadvantage based on your high school’s grading system. They see all the individual grades.

^ Okay, thats what i thought/hoped.
