retake after mess up?

im currently a high school junior and i've taken the sats twice. My scores were 2190 and 2100

first test: 2190
720 reading
750 math
720 writing
8 essay

second test: 2100
780 reading
760 math
590 writing
7 essay

my composite score would be a 2260

as you can probably see, two of my sections increased the second time but i messed up big time on the writing. I think i bubbled wrong or something. Would it be worth taking the test again? the schools im looking to apply to are nyu, bc, and maybe some of the lower ivies

did you see whether those colleges accept super score or best sitting? I think NYU superscores (taking the best score from each section on different sittings), but I don’t think Boston College or some of the lower ivies do accept superscores (they accept best sitting i believe). 2190 is in the range of some top schools so you should decide whether you are willing to put in the effort to prepare and take it again. Though, try not to take it more than three times. To have a better shot at ivies, I would, but otherwise, that score is good enough.

Just my thoughts, please do not feel compelled to agree with what i believe.
