retake class or finish IGETC

hello this is my first post on this site
today i got kicked out of PE (Kinesiology which is part of IGETC from Citrus college)
for being late at first day of school -_-

i also got a D grade on oral communication (speech) class in winter (also another IGETC course)
it damaged my GPA severely

due to all the budge cuts and crap, I can only try add one of the two class(readd PE or speech) to my schedule.
so which one should i get?

im transferring to US or CSU this fall
i have completed everything else on IGETC

My real question is that is it going to decrease the chance entering UC/CSU by not taking a damn PE class? (from what i have read on this forum, people say IGETC is so goddamned important, some people say only the main courses matter and some people say depend on school and so on...)

im thinking to retake the speech class but not sure about the consequences of not completing IGETC

i know i sound dumb for failing the easiest class and got dropped for stupid reason but i really need help. thanks in advance.

Are you sure that you have to have a PE course to finish the IGETC? In my opinion, I think that the universities would rather see an improved grade in a more important class/requirement than a PE class.

Retake the speech class. It is required in order to be eligible to transfer to a CSU and it will improve your GPA. PE is not required to complete IGETC. It is only required to get an AA which you don’t need because you are transferring.

If you do not complete IGETC, you will have to complete the breadth or general education requirements of the UC or CSU campus that you transfer to (although some of the courses taken for IGETC purposes may count against some of the breadth or general education requirements).

What IGETC category does the Kinesiology course fulfill? The IGETC list for Citrus College on [Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) does not show any such courses fulfilling any IGETC categories. Can you take some other course to fulfill the category that you are missing?

the 5th category “lifelong understanding…lol”
its funny cuz over 1/3 of the courses on this category are not offered by my school this semester

and really thank you guys for replying
you guys are awesome!

^^ that is not IGETC. That is the CSU GE plan. It will not help you if you want to transfer to a UC

LALadyy is correct. The PE credit is only needed if you plan on going to a CSU. And if that’s the case this isn’t the BEST forum for what your looking.
