Retake Class?

I took music 160 and didn't really go to class or do much work and ended up get below a 2.0 in this class. Would you recommend retaking it or just moving on and doing another VLPA?

If you missed those classes and work due to lack of interest, i will suggest no. Or else, you may consider going for it since you have some knowledge on it already (and by asking this question, it shows that at a certain level, you are inclined to re-taking), but im not sure how you’ll fare since you had a bad record… you might be bored having gone through it again. Maybe another VLPA class that you have greater interest in?..

If you have any inkling of desire to go to grad school, retake it. It’ll look better to admissions, that you went back, applied yourself and succeeded.

If you don’t…and you don’t like the class…just take a diff vlpa

Depends on your current cumulative GPA, and graduate school plans. If music is not your focus, then don’t waste time retaking a course that is not important. Sure, admissions will see it as a bad grade, but not a bad grade that immediately affects the level of your focused study. Btw, I took Music 160 as well. I showed up only for the first few days, and still managed a 4.0…oh well.
