What makes you think that paired with the SAME EC's, essays, recs, etc...a 50 point boost is going to increase your chances into a top college?

That 50 points will NOT be the deciding factor in admissions whether you get accepted or not.

I'll still stand by my troll or arrogant comment. If this is real this supposedly very bright individual lacks a great deal of common sense. Statistically and pragmatically speaking the 2350 is the same as a 2400. Y'all need to stop thinking your admission lives and dies with standardized tests. Once you reach a certain point with your scores other factors make the decisions for you...

Thank you for saying this!

Exactly what I have been wanting to say - unless you have like a 1900 or something; once you reach a point it's your EC's, essays, rec's, and GPA that make the deciding factors...every one that made it to elite colleges (like my cousins/seniors that came in to talk to people) and etc ALL say this.

in case you guys didn't catch on, this is obviously a joke thread.
unless ofcourse the OP is a f uckface. excuse my language but extreme situations call for extreme language toward extremely stupid people.

seriously, im sorry about my language but I really hate this guy.

Duh...it was a joke. I need to take subject tests for Stanford in October, not retake the SAT. I did it for two reasons.

The first was just to get a sampling of people's reactions. Only on CC would I get people actually telling me to retake. I wanted to see how people responded, and to see if anyone ridiculed my pathetic reasons for retaking.

The second was to illustrate the pointlessness of retake threads for anyone over 2250. I think it is evident you are smart; college admissions officers know that too. Unless you need to get up the math section from a 700 because you are interested in CIT, MIT or something of that kind, you are just demonstrating obsession over scores and wasting your time. Asking us if you should retake your 2310 just makes you look arrogant, as people in this thread astutely observed. Just don't do it.

Oh, I'm sure I didn't look that bad, Eloquence. Yeah, maybe I might be a little insane for wanting to retake, but, really, it's my own time and money. Personally, I feel that I'm a lot brighter now than I was one year ago when I took the test, so if there's a chance I can score higher than I did before, I'd be happy to take it. Perhaps that's irrational and maybe, just maybe, it's insane, but there are worse things in life than wanting to retake a 2300+.

It definitely smelled like a troll thread from the beginning. It doesn't mean there aren't people out there who legitimately think like this but just something in the demeanor of it was fishy.

we aren't mad. just simply baffled by the fact that someone who is seemingly smart can be an idiot. i mean seriously....
of course im jealous. i would love to have gotten a 2300+.
thats not the point we are making

yeah you should definitely retake...a 2350 isn't that great, most colleges require you to score at least a 2390. so in other words, if you don't retake and score perfect i'm afraid your only option left would be a community college :/
