Can I retake an I-CORE Prereq and have the past grade be removed from my gpa and replaced with the new one? I'm wondering cause I got too far behind in A201 and A202 this semester and currently have a High D in both classes. I'm now caught up and I'm sure I can bring my grade up and maybe get a C to C+ but even then the course would be easy enough the second time around that I could get an A or B. So assuming I get a D in both (worse case scenario) and with all my other grades being Bs and above will I be able to stay in the Kelly School of Business and eventually have the grades replaced? I may retake either next semester or during the summer.

Here is the page on the Kelley website that should answer your questions:

It sounds like retaking a class will only help your IU GPA, it will not help your GPA that is used by the Kelley School of Business.

Just drop one of the classes and try to pick up enough hours to remain a full time student. Maybe you can salvage a solid C in one of A201 or A202. Since you are already in Kelley, a solid C is acceptable for degree requirements. You must have 12 credits completed at the end of the term.

Dropping classes and getting a “W” will not affect your IUB or Kelley gpa at all; but you must still complete 12 credits this semester if you have some scholarships, federal financial aid, etc. You should have started working on this problem when there were plenty of eight-week classes that you could have signed up for to keep you at 12 credits.

See if you can find any one or two credit classes left for this semester to take in order to remain a full time student (12 credits or more.) Take the minimum to get to 12.

It is always a bad idea to take A201 and A202 the same semester. It used to be impossible to do that as Kelley would schedule the midterm and final at the same time for each class. Maybe they need to start doing that again. Also, A201 and A202 won’t be much “easier” the second time around if you wind up taking them both the same semester again.
