When I finish all the big blue practice tests(which spans a period of a few months), should I redo them or rather do the princeton review ones? Thanks.

Don’t redo them lol. You can do the online ones (there are like 10 of them floating around) and the princeton review is just as good. The critical reading is a little harder, while the math and writing are similar.

Princeton Review does not actually reflect real SAT questions (don’t even get me started on the Critical Reading part) But to be honest, there are some people on this forum that are ardent advocates of Princeton Review (but hey, to each his own hehe). Nothing can compare to blue book questions. Maybe review the exams and see what you got wrong and later re-do it (especially for the math section) until you get everything perfect. Also, there are some tests in the first blue book (1st edition) that are not in the second edition I believe.

You should also check out the online free practice tests put out by the CollegeBoard (they are previously administered SAT’S). You can search for past years here on college confidential.

If you do have a chance you can also search for or purchase past QAS (previously administered SAT’S) I do not promote this action, just saying if you are really desperate and need college board material then that route is always available if you know where to look.

Good luck! If you have any other questions let me know.

As a recent “alumnus” of the PR program, I can vouch that the CR is not exactly similar to the actual SAT but it isn’t detrimentally dissimilar either. Overall PR is harder than the actual SAT, so it preps you well.

I used PR, and im your average SAT taker…the highest i’ve scored is a 1680 (superscored off two sit-ins; first time was just 1600), and i used the PR book…i expected about 150-200 points higher, but my CR score actually went down from when i originally used the BB…point in sum, dont use PR! it’s not accurate at all!

ALSO! the collegeboard’s website has a full SAT test online, take that when ur done with all of your bb tests

But is PR still good as practice? Like just a supplement, not depending on it

i guess so but not as a main source of practice. as long as you dont depend on it and just use it as a supplement, yeah.

@warlands719: If you have enough collegeboard material then you don’t need Princeton Review at all. Why would you use it if there are enough collegeboard tests. If PR is not really prepping you with real questions why are you going to use it.

Certain patterns on the SAT can’t be seen with Princeton Review practice tests.

Um yeah they can be. It got me from a 2000 to 2300.
