Iam looking to apply to Boston College, Northwestern, rice status schools
Shud i retake and try to get a 2300?????????? Or is 2240 gud enough as 2280 or 2300 wont make that big of a difference.

The middle 50% of Boston College’s SAT scores was 1920-2130. You can look up the ranges for the other schools, but if they’re in a similar range, the score ranges are probably similar, and your score is fine for those schools.

If i can raise my reading score to 700-720 but cannot guarantee other scores wont drop 2240 and 2260-2280 that big of a difference?
cuz i know under 700 reading kinda weak

I’d say you’re set, don’t worry about it, with a 2240 you are good for those schools
middle 50% for the schools you metioned:
Boston College: 1880-2150
Northwestern:2030-2280
Rice:1970-2270
If you retake it any more, it may look like you are trying too hard.

I disagree. I got a 680, 800, 780 and I am definetly retaking (lol i had already signed up for it anyway). Most colleges–some people say but is not necessarily true–is that they dont look at only CR + M and not so much W, therefore for the schools your looking at a 1520+ seems very secure. NU is my first choice and I personally wont feel comfortable without that 1520+
