Retake SAT/ACT??

I am a HS senior and will be attending SUNY:Stony Brook, however I am planning on transferring to one of my dream schools: Columbia or Cornell, even Brown for sophmore year. Should I retake my SAT, which was merely a 1870: 710M, 560R, 600W, or my ACT, a lousy 30??? I know those were probably a major contribution to my rejections for the freshman yr. and I definitely don't want to see any "I regret to"s next year...=]

Yes, I think you should. Can’t hurt. Try to take care of it at a time when you won’t have to worry about studying for classes, so maybe the June date if possible. I retook mine in January of my freshman year of college, before spring semester started so I could really focus on studying for it. Definitely look to get your reading score up by memorizing vocab.
