I'm in District 10 and I scored a 1910 on the November test. 670 M 640 CR 600 W 8 Essay. Should I go ahead and retake the January test? I have quite a few classmates from my school alone that are also applying, a friend who received a 2140 on the October test, two friends that received a 1840 and a 2030 respectively on the November test with me, and 3 more classmates taking the test in December. I believe 2140 and 1840 are retesting as far as I know. As you can imagine, there is quite a competitive atmosphere. Is a 1910 too low for NCSSM? I have pretty good grades and I think that my extracurriculars are rather strong compared to what I know my peers at my school do. Or should I just go ahead and retake it just to be safe? I was really hoping for a 2000+ the first time around.

If you’ve scored 100+ points each above your school’s senior class average per section, I wouldn’t bother retaking it. Unless you feel the urge to compete, there’ll be no harm in retaking the SAT (probably a waste of ~$50).
