I just got a 2360 on the March SAT: 800 CR/ 770 M/ 790 W

This is my first attempt...on the PSAT I got 235 (80/80/75)

Is there use in retaking the SAT? I'm dissapointed with my math score because math is actually my best subject and I'm hoping to go into science fields. I didn't take any SAT classes, but I did take a lot of practice tests, and I was getting 800 on the math section pretty consistently.

Some of the colleges I'm thinking about are Stanford, Columbia, and HYP...will a 770 look weak to them?

(Oh yeah, can someone tell me about this "superscoring" business and whether the above colleges use it? :P)

yea, your math sucks, how the hell do you not get a 800? a 770 is pitiful in the eyes of hyps admission officers. do you see anyone getting in w/o a 800 in math? just give up on life, you're a failure

If you think you can get an 800 on math, you could try again. It's probably not necessary, though. You don't have to have perfect scores in everything (I wish I had 770 on my sections...). It might boost you a little, but I can't see it making too much of a difference.

So I guess me opinion is...retake it if you think you can do better, but don't let it distract you from SAT IIs or other important stuff. You're already in the 99+ percentile on the overall SAT rankings.

@ stupidkid:
lol ya...i was wondering about that not-800 too....I qualified for AIME (well, I guess that's not much)..how could I have died so badly on the SAT math? :P

770? AIME? pfffff, that it? come on man; I've gotten a 2400/2400 last year and a 1600/1600 two years before, all the while performing at the kremlin on holidays and dating princess alexandra of luxembourg on weekends--and I STILL can't get into a community college, let alone Stanford. yeah I'd give up now if I was in your shoes. a 770 means you can't be a doctor or chief officer of a company, you know.
